Juliana Caffé

Juliana Caffé (b. São Paulo, 1983) is a curator, editor and researcher on contemporary art. She is currently a master’s student at the Postgraduate Program in Aesthetics and Art History at the University of São Paulo USP. She holds postgraduate specialization in Curatorship from the University of Cape Town UCT (South Africa); and in Art: History, Criticism, and Curating from PUCSP. She worked at the Associação Cultural Videobrasil between 2013 and 2017, on the programming of the exhibitions and other activities of GalpãoVB. She has co-curated Conversations in Gondwana, since 2017, a curatorial collective and platform for research, experimentation, and studies in contemporary art between southern countries; and co-curated the Cambridge Artistic Residency, a project which puts forward artistic and cultural proposals in the Ocupação Hotel Cambridge, an occupied building in downtown São Paulo. She collaborates with Artishock Magazine and has participated in artist residencies such as Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo EAC (Montevideo, 2019), No Lugar (Quito, 2021), and Kiosko (Santa Cruz, 2021). Selected curatorial works include: How to Remain Silent? at the A4 Arts Foundation (Cape Town, 2017); From Silence to Memory at Paço das Artes (São Paulo, 2018); Conversations in Gondwana at CCSP (São Paulo, 2019); and A Continent for Caliban at Factoría Habana (Havana, 2020).
