WEDNESDAY MAY 3 12-8pm VIP Preview TEFAF New York Spring Park Avenue Armory Open to Trustees and members of ICI’s Leadership Council and International Forum Founded by art dealers in 1988 and run as a non-profit foundation, TEFAF has a proud history of showcasing masterpieces in every category of art and design – from antiques, Old Masters and Haute Joaillerie to contemporary painting, works on paper and 20th-century design. In addition to its annual fair in Maastricht, The Netherlands, TEFAF has expanded to the US presenting two new fairs, TEFAF New York Fall which launched last October and TEFAF New York Spring opening this May 3-7, 2017 with a focus on modern and contemporary art and design. 6:30–8pm VOTI Book Launch with Hans-Ulrich Obrist ICI’s Curatorial Hub Free and open to the public VOTI: Union of the Imaginary will be launched at the ICI Curatorial Hub with editors Susan Hapgood and November Paynter, as well as contributors Hans Ulrich Obrist, Carlos Basualdo, and Jordan Crandall. THURSDAY MAY 4 Frieze New York Preview Day Randall’s Island Open to Trustees and members of ICI’s Leadership Council, International Forum and The Independents Frieze New York 2017 brings together the world’s leading modern and contemporary art galleries, innovative curated sections, a celebrated series of talks, site-specific artist commissions and the city’s most talked about restaurants, all in a bespoke structure overlooking the East River in Randall’s Island Park. 10am-1pm 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair Collector and Museum Breakfast Transportation will be provided to Pioneer Works from Union Square and then onward to Frieze 1-6pm 1:54 VIP Preview Pioneer Works, Brooklyn Transportation will be provided to Pioneer Works from Union Square and then onward to Frieze Open to Trustees and members of ICI’s Leadership Council, International Forum 6-10pm 1:54 Opening Cocktail Preview Open to Trustees and members of ICI’s Leadership Council, International Forum and The Independents 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair is the leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary art from African and its diaspora. Drawing reference to the fifty-four countries that constitute the African continent, 1:54 is a sustainable and dynamic platform that is engaged in contemporary dialogue and exchange. The 2017 New York edition will welcome 19 galleries hailing from Angola, Cote d’Ivoire, France, Ghana, Italy, Kenya, Morocco, the UK, the US and South Africa. 9pm–late 1:54 Afterparty! Red Hook Labs, Brooklyn 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair invites ICI Independents to join the 1:54 official after-party. Open to Trustees and members of ICI’s Leadership Council, International Forum and The Independents FRIDAY MAY 5 6–8pm Special Viewing at Frieze New York Randalls Island Open to Trustees and members of ICI’s Leadership Council, International Forum and The Independents ICI Independents are invited to a private, after-hours viewing experience of Frieze New York strictly reserved for VIPs as well as invited influencers, cultural enthusiasts and business leaders from around New York City and across the globe. The evening will include private tours every 30 minutes and complimentary drinks. SATURDAY MAY 6 2–3pm TEFAF Private Tour with TEFAF New York Director Michael Plummer Park Avenue Armory Open to Trustees and members of ICI’s Leadership Council and International Forum Join ICI for a tour of TEFAF NEW YORK SPRING May 5, at 2pm. Managing Director of TEFAF NEW YORK and Principal and Co-Founder of Artvest Partners LLC, Michael Plummer, will greet ICI and give a brief history of the organization.
