Allegorical Nude (2019) comes from a series of oil paintings that were on view at JTT in a solo exhibition, that feature imagined bathers. As is common to this body of work, a woman poses within a flattened landscape. She is covered in a field of color, representing both a body of water as well as a swath of blue fabric. Both clothed and nude, and in contrast to many historical bather subjects, she gazes out of the picture plane directly at her observer.

On the occasion of the 3rd Annual Independents Spring Benefit, ICI is collaborating with ART FOR CHANGE to launch a limited edition print, Allegorical Nude (2019), by emerging LA based artist Becky Kolsrud.

Driven by her lifelong love of art and passion for philanthropy, ICI Leadership Council member, Jeanne Masel, started ART FOR CHANGE to offer exceptional fine art for socially conscious collectors. In this creative partnerships, ART FOR CHANGE is proud to raise money and awareness for ICI, as well as Kolsrud. Proceeds from the edition benefit ICI, and half of each purchase goes to the artist.
