Devin Cain
Devin Cain is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and educator. He received his B.A. in Cinema Art + Science from Columbia College Chicago and has training in theater and performance. He is a Teaching Artist for the School Fine and Performing at Columbia College Chicago. His teaching practice focuses on visual literacy, personal language and symbols, and the intersection of genre cinema and existential topics. His studio work utilizes visual and narrative strategies to comprehend an idea through evoking unconscious and transpersonal sensibilities to present a new composition of being and awareness. Devins films are more about the process of self-authoring and interrogation, exploring and expanding the limits of cinema’s narrative faculties by having the aesthetic exhibit the behavior of the subject’s psychic reality.
