Geovana Ibarra

Geovana Ibarra is a curator based in Guadalajara, Mexico. She holds a BFA in Architecture from ITESO University in Guadalajara, where she was a professor of Architecture Theory and History. Since 2001 she has held positions in contemporary art management and promotion. She has worked for private collections such as Charpenel Collection and Alma Colectiva, the Lopez Rocha family collection. She has also worked in the coordination and direction of independent exhibition and production spaces including Oficina para Proyectos de Arte (OPA) and Central de Arte in Guadalajara’s World Trade Center. In 2007, she was appointed director of Museo de Arte Raúl Anguiano (MURA), and in 2013 as Chief Curator of Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ). Ibarra is currently pursuing an MA in Critical Theory at 17 Instituto de Estudios Criticos in Mexico City and she is director of Travesia Cuatro gallery in Guadalajara.
