Ivan Mejia is an independent curator with a PhD in the History of Art from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (2010). His tutor was Cuauhtémoc Medina. Mejia also holds a postdoctoral degree in Contemporary Art from UNAM (2011), a postdoctoral degree in Philosophy of Art from the University Autonoma of Barcelona (2012), and a postdoctoral degree in Contemporary Art from the Iberoamericana University (2013-14). Mejia has been the author of various books including The post human body in art and contemporary culture, Global Masquerade, and Textum: linguistic structures in contemporary art. He has published essays in journals from Mexico, Spain, and Brazil, and participated in presentations and lectures in Mexico and abroad. Mejia has curated Curator of the cycle: Financial Crimes. Poetics in the era of financial colonialism in EspaiDos, Barcelona (2013), articulated by seven exhibitions. Mejia has done curatorial research residencies at the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo and Museu dArt Contemporani de Barcelona.
