Ilhan Ozan is a curator, researcher and arts writer based in Istanbul. He received his Bachelors in Sociology from Marmara University and his Masters in Philosophy and Social Thought from Istanbul Bilgi University, where he conducted his dissertation research on the relationship between art and politics in contemporary practices. Taking the background from social sciences and humanities, his interdisciplinary approach to art practice has been shaped from the perspectives of sociology, philosophy and art history. His field of interest consists of philosophical perspectives on art and aesthetics, art and politics, social change and culture, and historiography. He was previously Project Manager at Pilevneli Project, an art space in Istanbul, and writer in Istanbul Art News. He is a regular contributor to mest.org, an artist-centered online publication. He currently works in Research and Programs at SALT, Istanbul.
