Marie Heilich

Marie Heilich (b. 1986, St. Louis) is a curator and writer based in Los Angeles where she hosts the communal talk series Passion Fruit with the artist-run space Mother Culture. She is currently researching and writing on the life and work of Santa Monica-based painter, Luchita Hurtado. Previously, Heilich served as Assistant Director of White Flag Projects in St. Louis where she organized solo projects with artists Martine Syms, Dena Yago, Ligia Lewis, Carlos Reyes, and Darja Bajagi? among others. While in St. Louis she interviewed Olivier Mosset with Parapet/Real Humans and Charlemagne Palestine with the Webster University Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Art where she lectured part-time. Heilich has contributed writing to ETC: Revue De L’art Actual, BOMB Daily, Temporary Art Review, and catalogues published by SculptureCenter, Long Island City and the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis. Heilich holds a masters degree in Curatorial Studies from the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College.
