Renée N. Vara
Renée N. Vara, AAA, Vara Fine Arts, NY, is the Director of a full service art advisory and curatorial firm specializing in Post-War and Contemporary art and design. For a decade, she was the National Fine Arts Specialist at Chubb Insurance, where she served as the private curator and valuation expert for Artnews’ “Top 100 Collectors” with collections valued up to 1B. As an expert, Vara has been cited in publications including Forbes, The New York Times, Dow Jones, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Artnews, Art & Antiques, CNN, Town and Country, US News and World Report, and Crain’s. She has a graduate degree in art history from CUNY and is an Adjunct Professor at NYU SCPS. She has also served as Lecturer at the Guggenheim Museum (NY) and as an Adjunct at Sothebys Institute. Vara is Executive Editor for the avant-garde art journal, INPUT, an Executive Board Member of POWArts (Professional Organization of Women in the Arts), and a Board Member of the Appraisers Association of America. She regularly lectures and curates international emerging art shows including Art Miami Art Basel, Scope, Frieze, and the Istanbul Biennale.
