Yulia Aksenova was born in Russia and currently lives and works in Moscow as curator of the Center of Contemporary Culture GARAGE, where she organizes shows of both Russian and international art. Aksenova previously ran the education program at the center, developing a series of symposia, discussions, and master classes. Prior to this, she worked at the State Tretyakov Gallery and worked on independent curatorial projects in various non-profit institutions in Moscow. Aksenova holds an MA in Art History from the Russian State University of the Humanities. In 2008 she graduated from the de Appel Curatorial Training Program.
