The Curatorial Intensive is a weeklong professional development program that brings together emerging curators for the opportunity to exchange ideas, develop their curatorial practice, and learn from their colleagues. Participants include: Sven Christian (Johannesburg, South Africa), Giulia Colletti (Palermo, Italy), Fatou Kiné Diouf (Dakar, Senegal), Innocent Ekejiuba (Lagos, Nigeria), Martha Kazungu (Kampala, Uganda), Emily Kuhlmann (San Francisco, CA), Obed Mokhulani (Gaborone, Botswana), Twin Mosia (Petrus Steyn, South Africa), Tatiana Rais (Bogotá, Colombia) Phumzile Nombus Twala (Johannesburg, South Africa), Phokeng Tshepo Setai (Cape Town, South Africa), Simangaliso Sibiya (Johannesburg, South Africa). The Curatorial Intensive in Cape Town, South Africa is in collaboration with the Institute for Creative Arts at the University of Cape Town. The program will coincide with Infecting the City, the longest running public arts festival in the country, curated by Jay Pather. This event is free and open to the public.
