Developed in 2006, The Independence Project focuses on collaborations with art spaces across Asia. Curators collaborate on residencies, forums, publications, and exhibitions, which include artists participating in exchange projects, with partner institutions in Malaysia, Singapore, China, South Korea, and Indonesia. The Curators Perspective is a free, itinerant public discussion series ICI developed as a way for international curators to share their research and experiences with audiences in New York. These talks provide ICI the opportunity to assemble documentation on and disseminate information about a wide variety of international perspectives on art today. Tyler Rollins Fine Art focuses on solo exhibitions by major contemporary artists based in seven countries in the Southeast Asia region, in addition to the United States and Australia. A particular focus of the gallery’s work is on developing institutional projects, and last year, the gallery’s artists participated in ten solo projects and group shows in museums around the country, in addition to numerous international exhibitions and biennials, such as Documenta, the Asia-Pacific Triennial, and the Sydney Biennale.
