Allen Ruppersberg Sourcebook San Francisco Launch

Allen Ruppersberg Sourcebook Launch Discussion & Book Signing Wednesday, October 8, 2014 6pm Drinks 7pm Discussion & Book Signing Kadist 3295 20th St. San Francisco, CA Allen Ruppersberg & Geoff Kaplan in conversation Moderated by Constance M. Lewallen RSVP@curatorsintl.org with “RUPPERSBERG” in the subject heading. The Allen Ruppersberg Sourcebook: Reanimating the 20th century is the first publication to look at the complete range of ?Ruppersberg’s diverse practice from 1978 to 2012. It focuses on nine ?important projects from that period, and delves into the texts, images, films, records and historical moments that were particularly influential to the artist. Drawing from the ephemera and pre-digital materials that sparked Ruppersberg’s thinking behind each work, the Sourcebook offers an insight into the artist’s interest in 20th century popular culture. The book has been brilliantly designed by Geoff Kaplan (General Working Group), an editor, educator and designer based in San Francisco. This event brings the two together to discuss their collaborative process in creating the book and the selection of materials it comprises. The discussion will be moderated by Constance M. Lewallen.
