Nancy Spector, Deputy Director and Jennifer and David Stockman Chief Curator of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation has selected Eva Barois De Caevel as the recipient of ICIs 2014 Independent Vision Curatorial Award. The Award will be presented by Nancy Spector at ICIs 2014 Annual Benefit & Auction taking place on November 17 at the Cunard Building, 25 Broadway in New York City. Eva Barois De Caevel is an independent curator based in Paris and the assistant curator at Raw Material Company, Dakar. She was selected from a shortlist of 15 emerging curators from around the world who were nominated by 15 internationally established curators for the strengths of exhibitions or projects they have recently produced. Eva Barois De Caevels unflinching curatorial practice tackles some of todays most urgent issues, including sexuality and human rights, in a postcolonial world.
