On Monday, November 17 ICI hosted its Annual Benefit & Auction. We paid homage to ICI cofounders Susan Sollins and Nina Castelli Sundell. We honored Dimitris Daskalopoulos with the 2014 Leo Award, designed by Margaret Lee, and presented by Agnes Gund, ICI Trustee Emirita. We recognized Eva Barois De Caevel who was selected by Nancy Spector to receive the 2014 Gerrit Lansing Independent Vision Curatorial Award. The setting was the historic Cunard Building, a breathtaking backdrop for the evening. Thank you to Jung Lee, Josh Brooks, and Allison Aronne of FÊTE for their vision and creativity in designing the event. The works donated by over 40 artists graced the space, a testament to so many artists’ support, generosity, and commitment to ICI:. The live auction was led by Gabriela Palmieri, Senior Vice President, Senior Specialist, Sotheby’s, New York, with her usual charm and charisma, and the silent auction was powered by Artsy. The Afterparty culminated in a riveting performance by Stephen Petronio Company which brought the crowd to a standstill… only to be moved again by the rhythms of DJ Alix Brown, who set the mood for a magical evening!
