This exhibition forms part of the Getty Foundation’s far-reaching Pacific Standard Time initiative, exploring the relationship between Los Angeles and Latin America. While Downey is primarily known for his post-1975 pioneering video work, Crouch and Ennis’s presentation will focus on three early bodies of work: Electronic Sculptures, Happenings & Performances, and Life Cycle installations, made between 1967 and 1974, which have not been seen or experienced for decades. This program is part of a talk series featuring the curators of some of the key exhibitions organized as part of Pacific Standard Time (PST): LA/LA in California this Fall. The series offers New York audiences an opportunity to learn first-hand about the curatorial ideas and research generated by PST: LA/LA. This event is free and open to the public. To attend, please RSVP to rsvp@curatorsintl.org with JUAN in the subject line. This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with City Council, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
