do it Fridays!
Samek Art Gallery, Bucknell University
Lewisburg, PA
The Samek Art Gallery at Bucknell University hosted do it from September 23 to December 12, 2013. As a complementary project to the exhibition, the gallery developed the do it Fridays! series. At noon every Friday throughout the duration of the exhibition, an artist instruction was reenacted or installed in the gallery as part of do it. Members of the campus and local communities were invited to contribute to this creative activity of interpreting and realizing artworks. For example, on Friday, October 11, the public joined the Gallery staff for a peach pie party, which was inspired by Robert Ashley’s 2012 instruction, “Four Scenes.”
