Marlon Griffith’s recent performance Positions + Power is featured in the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian. Griffith’s performance will be included in the upcoming exhibition En Mas’: Carnival and Performance Art of the Caribbean, curated by Claire Tancons and Krista Thompson and co-produced by ICI and the Contemporary Art Center, New Orleans.
“It is a legitimate art form,” says the Trinidad-born, Japan-based artist, of his preferred medium, Carnival. “Painting is respected. Drawing, sculpture, dance, performance – [and] these things are all incorporated into Carnival.”
