He’s since attended AA meetings ever since. He credits an overwhelming sense of fear for staying in recovery. This includes the fear of losing his family, his career and his personal health. As famous addiction recovery stories go, hers was well known to anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s. Incredibly, she checked into rehab by thirteen.

I told her all of my problems and she said I was an alcoholic. ‘I have highlights and a French manicure, there’s no way I’m an alcoholic.
A New Way of Life
This boredom caused her to engage in risqué and dangerous behavior. She began to experiment with cocaine at the age of 19. By the time she reached her early 20s, she began to smoke heroin. Kelly Osbourne has suffered from Vicodin addiction since having her tonsils removed when she was 13 years old. When she was 17 years old, she was consuming around 50 Vicodin tablets each day. She says that her mother’s cancer exasperated her Vicodin addiction. Osbourne has been in and out of rehab since 2004. Curtis is quoted as saying that her recovery is the ‘single greatest achievement’ in her life. She feels that without her recovery, her life would be a total shambles. Curtis feels as though she’s lucky in that she didn’t have anything to lose by entering recovery.
But if I had to give up my sobriety to get all of that back I don’t want it. They understand better as do I that we need to recover together. This disease of alcoholism is too cunning baffling and powerful to let me ever take a rest or sit on my laurels for too long. Buckshot was just a man no hero just an Alcoholic with a love for the program and for his fellow man. Believe me, I tried to blame everyone and everything I knew for my drinking; the death of my child, the ex-husbands, etc. Everyone was responsible for my drinking except me.

Resultantly, Bill learned to love himself and to love life. Bill developed self-worth and began volunteering, working for rehab centers to help young people like him. After seventy days, I was discharged and was soon able to return to work under a monitoring contract with PHS. I quickly joined AA and obtained a sponsor.
Unfortunately, Coley’s refuge was full of dangerous items, including “flammables” and drug paraphernalia. Leslie appeared on Season 3 of”Intervention.” She was a devoted mom-of-three, PTA member, and Sunday school teacher before becoming an alcoholic. “When she can’t get her hands on vodka or wine, Leslie resorts to economy size bottles of mouthwash,” her “Intervention” summary reads. Luckily, he did not sink as deep into addiction as some of his celebrity colleagues. When celebrities addicts are high functioning addicts, they often use their fame and their success as excuses to justify their addiction. Because they are still landing roles, they feel as though their addiction “isn’t that bad” or something that they need to worry about.

Days of Water: A Sobriety Story
I thought I was one of those hopeless people that would never get it, and that I was destined to die from this. In my mid-thirties I was in and out of treatment. At one point I was able to stay sober for a year, but I slipped away from my recovery. Sober Home I had this anxiety inside, and the only way I knew was to go back to drugs.
